Jackson had his Valentine Party at school today! It was so cute seeing those sweet little ones having so much fun. The teacher allowed them to make their own heart shaped grilled cheese sandwiches. Too cute! I had to leave Jackson's party early because I was subbing in another class. Well, the teacher brought him to me after the party was over and told me that Jackson would not eat his cookie at the party because he told her he was going to share it with his mommy! That's MY BOY! Jackson LOVES LOVES LOVES cookies so that was a very sweet moment for me.
This afternoon I bundled Jackson up for some snowy fun. It was the first time he had ever played in snow. HE LOVED IT! We had so much fun throwing snowballs at each other.
Other news, my sweet Babuh (Lawson's nickname) is going to have ear & eye surgery on Feb 26. I am happy that his eyes will be corrected and his ears won't hurt anymore, but as a mother, I do worry abit. Please pray for my precious little one.
Nothing better than being a mommy...

Being a Grown up can really stink!
Jeff found out yesterday that there is a 25% chance he will be laid off in the next 4-8 weeks. Great. Exactly what I wanted to hear. I love the Lord. I really do, but I'm scared. What if this time He decides that I don't deserve his protection? I know the Lord loves me but sometimes it's hard for me to grasp just how much. It's hard for me not to ask myself why does the Lord love me. What have I done for Him or His Kingdom lately? I guess I get stuck on the 'performance' based love and so I feel like I've failed my Lord tremendously. Anyway, I am praying for the Lord's protection during this uncertain time. I would appreciate you praying for us as well.
Another subject... I am starting BACK to school (again). I have a little over 2 years left! I am getting my degree in Elem Education and I'm totally excited! Not because I am just DYING to work but because it will be wonderful for my family. The part I am most excited about is that I don't even have to leave McKinney to obtain it. Collin College (community college) now offers a Higher Education program so I can get the degree from Texas A&M Commerce at the McKinney campus. Woo hoo. This will be such a blessing to my famiy.

Project Girl
My mind is just spinning with different things I want to do it in our house. First of all, I am going to make some rain gutter bookshelves for Jackson's room. Aunt Peggy offered to pay for the materials as a birthday gift (awesome!) so I need to go price the materials out. I also want to do something with our master bedroom closet. I desperately need more storage space, but not for clothes but other random stuff. I am going to buy an free standing shelving unit to place in there (and maybe even 2 if I love it. They are dirt cheap so I'm excited to do this fairly soon. I have a random closet tht I store junk (batteries, birthday bags, etc. I am going to reorganize this closet and make it a stock closet for all my loot I'm getting by couponing. Yeah me! I also want to convert my linen closet to the boy's game/toy closet. As you can see, I've got a lot of work ahead of me and I've got tons of other stuff I want/need to do (ie paint both bathrooms, install light in kitchen, and even more). Have I mentioned I love staying at home? My rule is that I must get my house completely cleaned every week before I can work on my fun projects!

We've decided against enrolling Little Bear into the Preschool program. I just did not have peace about it. Alot of my friends are stunned by my decision & act like I am making the WORST decision ever. Since when was it considered bad parenting to spend time with your small child? I did not make this decision so he can sit around watching cartoons every day. I am acually going to prepare him for Kindergarten myself. We are going to learn, do lots of fun crafts, and spend lots of time on field trips. I want my son to get the opportunity to explore exciting things with me! I plan on taking him to Museums, Science Centers, the Imax Theater, Dinosaur Live Exhibit, the Sculpture Garden, the zoo and even the Recycling Center. I can not even express my excitement. We will also visit some parks, free gyms, and anything else cool we can find! I want my boys to have wonderful memories of their home life. I want to ensure that I've built a strong, loving relationship with my boys. God has entrusted these boys to me for a short while. I want to follow God's plan on how to raise them into Godly men. So, that's that. I don't really need to hear anymore comments on the huge benefits of preschool (aka daycare). I am doing what is best for my family & I'm very excited about what the next few years is going to bring!
Coupon Frenzy!
After years of talking about couponing, I've actually joined in and I am having a BLAST with it! I am hope to cut our budget in half each month by shopping the sales ads & couponing! Today I purchased 2 boxes of Pillsbury Brownie Mix, 2 packages of Mission Tortillas, 2 boxes of Ziploc storage bags, and 4 boxes of Cheerios for $7.14. Woo hoo! I was so excited! What a high to walk out of Tom Thumb with all that stuff for only a few dollars. And I actually use those items so it's not like I filled my pantry with stuff we will never actually use! I will post a picture soon of all my loot!!
